This is my story
Learning how important it is to only put good healthy food into my body and to exercise became the keys to regaining and maintaining my health and overall well being.
I am a 40 year old stay at home mom (SAHM) of 4 beautiful kids Paulina 20, Andres 18, Courtney 12 and Emily 8. I began my health journey not to lose weight but because I was in a bit of a health crisis. I had suffered from migraines, daily headaches and anxiety for most of my life. I had tried everything under the moon and not much had worked. In February of 2014 I went on a 4-day cruise with my sister to celebrate her college graduation. Upon returning from the cruise I could not stop rocking (weeks after). After many trips to the doctors and many AWFUL tests I was diagnosed with something called Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MDDS) . I was relieved that I didn’t have a tumor or anything serious but very upset because I was told there was no cure and there was a possibility it could get worse over time. I read numerous stories about people suffering for years with not much relief. I decided then I was going to fight this with everything I had. So I reached out to a friend and acupuncturist who really helped me. He educated me how important it was to only put good healthy food into my body and to exercise. Well, exercise would be my best friend during this period because with MDDS the more I moved the better I felt; it was when I stopped moving that the world rocked around me.

God sure did me a big favor by putting a post in my newsfeed sometime in March. It was a post from a friend on Facebook about how Shakeology had helped her with her migraines and anxiety and helped her lose weight. (Bonus) So I called her for more information and decided to try Shakeology. Within the first 2 weeks I started to feel like I had more energy and I noticed I was taking less ibuprofen for my headaches. I wanted to try exercising to see if that helped me feel better. I was frustrated and depressed about the way I was feeling and knew I wanted to fight this with everything I had for the sake of my family. I was invited to try the 21 Day Fix Challenge which couldn’t have come at a more perfect time because I was a couple weeks away from being a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding. I had my dress altered because it was 6 times too big when I got it and either I gained weight before picking up my altered dress or they made a little mistake. Either way it was a little too tight and I didn’t like the way my arms looked in the dress. So I signed up for the challenge and took my before pictures and measurements. I began exercising in late March and sticking to the eating plan. From that moment on I knew I was going to give it everything I had. I started feeling better and liked the way my body was changing. During this time I was also seeing my doctor and an acupuncturist for treatments about 3 times a week for the MDDS. By week 3 the last week of the program I was able to cut back my acupuncturists to once a week and after about 1 1/2 months I stopped completely. I couldn’t believe that after 3 weeks I was rocking less and feeling stronger and healthier than I had in months. I lost 10 pounds and 17 inches from everywhere! I loved the way my body was looking but more than anything I saw light at the end of the tunnel. I loved eating clean and had so much appreciation for life I knew I had to share my experience with others!

Now, I get up at 5:00am to workout and eat 6 small meals a day with Shakeology being one of them! The rocking is under control and I am stronger than I have ever been. I know I couldn’t have gotten through my worst moments of MDDS with out my doctors but I also contribute my success to Shakeology and the wonderful programs Beachbody offers. I am thankful for my COACH who started me on this journey and her support during my worst days.. I am now a Beachbody coach my-self who loves life helping others change their lives to feel better about themselves and reach their health goals!!! I have truly found my passion! I love not only what this has done for me but my entire family. My husband just started doing P90X3 and using the Performance line I can’t wait to see where this journey takes him!
Since completing the 21-Day Fix I have maintained my weight loss and gained a lot of muscle mass. I have done numerous Beachbody® programs such as T25, PIYO, P90, 21-Day Fix Extreme, Les Mills Pump, T25, Cize, Ultimate Reset, BodyBeast, 22 Minute Hard Core, Hammer & Chisel, Core-De-Force, and 80-Day Obsession. I have also become a certified PIYO and P90X instructor, certified personal trainer and nutritionist. I am in the best shape of my life and more than anything thankful for the opportunity to help others.
